So Jesus said to those who believed Him, “If you continue in My word, you are truly My disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”... “Truly, truly, I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the tree, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. 1 Peter 2:24
Grace and peace be multiplied to you through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. Through these He has given us His precious and magnificent promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, now that you have escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires. 2 Peter1:2-4

Colossians 1:19-23
For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity dwells in bodily form. And you have been made complete in Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority. In Him you were also circumcised, in the putting off of your sinful nature, with the circumcision performed by Christ and not by human hands. And having been buried with Him in baptism, you were raised with Him through your faith in the power of God, who raised Him from the dead. When you were dead in your trespasses and ... sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our trespasses, having canceled the debt ascribed to us in the decrees that stood against us. He took it away, nailing it to the cross! Colossians 2:9-14
